Bat Those Lashes

Who was blessed with long, full, glorious lashes? Unfortunately, not me! I’ve been searching for months to find the best mascara and tools to help me achieve fuller, bat worthy, lashes. If you’re in the same boat as me, keep reading to see what products give my sad little lashes a glamorous boost.
Lash Routine

Thrive Causemetics Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara $24 | Vegalash Volumizing Serum $59.95 every two months

Our best-selling vegaLASH Volumizing Serum is 100% vegan, cruelty-free, and has been clinically proven to deliver thicker, fuller, lengthened lashes in as few as 15 days.* Powered by our exclusive Polyphytobase Complex, vegaLASH Volumizing Serum contains active phytomolecules, along with zinc and biotin, essential for healthy lashes. Fast, safe and effective, this gentle formula is ideal for all skin types. Use twice per day for the most wink-worthy lashes!

I purchased vegalash half-hoping it would work because I had sparse lashes with noticeable bald spots. I started with the sampler that contained a two week supply of the serum along with their other products (I wasn’t a fan of anything else). My patchy bald spots were filling in within two weeks with just one application per day. That was enough for me to purchase the full size. I’m hoping with continued use I’ll see more volume and maybe length (although, it does not claim to be lengthening). A girl can dream…

  • Soft fibers deliver high-impact length and lifts lashes from root to tip for a winged lash look.
  • Buildable formula that won’t clump even when multiple coats are applied.
  • Glossy, transparent coating prevents formula from flaking and smudging.
  • Fibrous formula is easily removed with your favorite makeup remover and a wash cloth.

See, no lashes. I have short, straight, blonde lashes that are extremely hard to see (I promise, they’re there).

7516786256_IMG_1002  Step number one: curl like crazy. Note the flip up. This helps super straight lashes curl upwards and hang on to as much bend as possible. Eyes look more awake and open when using this technique as well. I use the tweezerman classic rose gold curler. I find that it fits my eyes better than most and the pad does not pull out my lashes (super important if you’re already lacking in the lash department).

If you look closely, you can see a few baby lashes. But, we’re not done yet!

7516786256_IMG_1009 7516786256_IMG_1012 Showtime. This mascara is EVERYTHING! After seeing several beauty gurus that I follow on social media use this, I decided it was time to give it a whirl. Best decision that I’ve made in a long time.

I will say that there is an application learning curve involved, or, there was for me anyway. It is fairly runny the first few uses, so don’t let that discourage you. I didn’t know what this stuff was made of until my third or fourth time using it. Also, there really isn’t an option to apply more that one coat after it fully dries down. Make sure you keep working with your lashes until you get the look you’re going for when they’re still a little wet. Once it dries down completely, it can get a little clumpy if you continue to add more to the tips.

*Warning* it is still a little runny, even after it thickens up. I find myself getting it on my eyeshadow more than usual, so proceed with caution. Totally worth it if ya ask me.

Side note: Do you see my adorable dog, Lola, hanging out in the background?! She likes to keep my company as I apply makeup. Sweet girl.

I use it on my bottom lashes as well. I don’t find that it runs, flakes or irritates my eyes.

Boom, lashes! There’s a smile on my face because I now have lashes to bat and admire. I really think that the Vegalash serum and Thrive Causemetics mascara have given me a new lease on life. Before meeting my two new BFFs, I was seriously considering getting lash extensions. Let’s be honest-I don’t have the budget or time for that.

I also added Colourpop’s lux lipstick in Uno Mas. It is one of my favorites.

Yep, there they are again. So pretty.

Excuse the blurry picture. Teddy felt left out and I couldn’t let that happen. He also likes to keep me company as I play with makeup.

I think the after picture speaks for itself. I know, I know-my lashes are not perfect. They never will be. But I think they look amazing compared to the before picture. My eyes look defined, open and more feminine.

Hope you find these two products to be just as amazing as I did!
